Conditioning: Vicky’s Workout Plan

Not gonna lie...I hate the gym. One of the reasons I got into pole was to avoid having to work out conventionally. But, now that I am training for competition, I’ve had to suck it up and make my way over to the gym. To help keep me in check, I’ve enlisted the help of a personal trainer, Krystyn.

Some of the areas I have been focused on are low ab, strength mixed with cardio, and proper breathing when working out.

Check out out some of our workouts!

I have been working with Krystyn for about a month and a half and have already noticed results. For example, last weekend I was able to hold my aerial teddy. I’ve also noticed my climbs have gotten much better, and I can even climb better when I have no grip.

We focus a lot on combining strength and cardio so that I can get through my routine with ease. Some of the stuff we focus on is circuit training, HIIT, and TONS of ab work.

Its hard work, but getting on this early will help me in the long run, as one of the lessons I learned from last years competition was that to do good, you have to have your mind and body right. I’ve been watching a lot of my old performance videos and really critiquing where I can improve, and endurance is what jumps out the most. This time I will be ready!
